MICHIGAN NURSES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
RECIPIENTS TO BE HONORED
Okemos, Michigan – Three Michigan students will be receive
Michigan Nurses Foundation (MNF) 2005 Scholarships at the Michigan
Nurses Association Convention on October 4 at the Ypsilanti
Marriott at Eagle Crest Conference Resort.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviewed
the applicants’ GPA and academic record, financial need,
and community service. Each applicant also submitted an essay
describing how the scholarship funds would enable them to achieve
their practice goals in nursing. Three students will receive a
$500 scholarship toward their nursing education. The annual scholarships
are open to nursing students who plan to begin their studies in
nursing or advance their education in nursing.
Congratulations to 2005 Michigan Nurses Foundation scholarship
recipients:
Keara A. (Cromie) Chandler, from
East Lansing, Michigan, is a nursing student at Michigan
State University
Erich J. Burkardt, from Monroe, Michigan, is
a nursing student at Monroe County Community College
Sarah Herington, from Grand Rapids, is a nursing
student at Hope College.

The Michigan Nurses Foundation was created
in 2000 to advance nursing and nursing education by awarding
scholarships, research grants, and financial aid for the treatment
of impaired nursing professionals. Through MNF, opportunities
are provided for those who wish to provide a legacy today for
tomorrow’s nurses. All contributions to the MNF, a 501(c)3
